The blackfish bite is still excellent!

We weren't sure what to expect today after the past three days of wind......pleasantly surprised to right from the first drop that the bite was far from over.

135 keepers today to 10lbs.

We have plenty of room on all trips after sunday. We will be sailing at least through next weekend (dec 4)

November 21, 2005
BAILED the blacks today. Close to 300 keepers to 10.25 lbs. What a day!

Still have plenty of room on most trips coming up with the exception of this Friday 11/25. Plenty of room on all trips next week as well. We will be sailing into December. Just give a call.

November 19, 2005

Blackfishing was very good again today. Yesterday was very slow for some reason but thankfully drastically picked up today.

130 keepers to 8.5 lbs was the official count.

We plan on fishing into December or as long as the bite lasts. Just give a call if you would like to join us.

November 16, 2005
Despite 30 knots of wind and the full moon, the blackfish continue to bite well.  Today 20 fares enjoyed a nice catch of 50 keepers to 9 lbs.  Very windy out there but we stayed close to the beach where it was manageable.

November 13, 2005
Blackfishing has been great most days.  Lots of nice fish coming over the rails.  Today was a little slower than its been as it took several drops to put together a good catch.  Nonetheless we finished the day with 70-80 keepers which included two very large blackfish both pushing 11 lbs.   Once again 'One More Drift'  out fished all the men and was high hook with 8 keepers.
Hopefully we should have a few more good weeks ahead.

After getting blown out for a record 13 days in a row, we finally sailed the past two days aboard our new boat!

Yesterday saw a slow pick of blackfish in lousy conditions.  Today was excellent though as 120 keepers were landed up to 7 lbs!    Phil Bloom led the way with 13 keepers (orl).  Mike Hayman also had his limit.  Great day out there and great to be fishing on the new boat!

The bite is definitely on as the water has cooled now into the low 60's.    Should be very good from here on out.

OCT 6, 2005
The great fall fishing continues!  Most days have seen a fantastic catch of mainly extra large Porgies to 3 lbs, a mix of sea bass and a few keeper blackfish.  There has also been a lot of bluefish caught on clams while bottom fishing and occasionally even a keeper bass.

Also, we have had some awesome drops on a few wrecks that were stacked with fish.  The wreck fishing should continue to build as the water cools.

Oct 1,2005
Our first blackfish trip was a success!  We started out the day with a slow pick of blues waiting for the hard current to ease off a bit.  We then moved to the shallow water to try for some tog.  Despite the 70 degree water temp, we did manage 8 nice keepers and a bunch of shorts to 5 lbs!
As we were making our move to another tog drop a huge school of bluefish appeared out of now where.  The blues were breaking all over the surface, birds everywhere.  We switched back over to the jigs and proceeded to massacre the blues and then some.

After everyone had their fill, we tried one drop in deeper water on the way home.  No blacks, but we did manage some big sea bass and a few scup.   Great day on the water!

September

Sept 26,2005

Fishing continues to be very good at the middle grounds.  The jigging was incredible earlier in the week off Cranes though slowed down  on the quarter moon.  The bass and blue fishing should be awesome as we approach the next moon.

Porgy fishing was very good the last few days east of the light in the middle grounds.  Quality porgies to 2.5 lbs.   Fun fall fishing right now!

Sunday, Sept 18,
Right on schedule with the moon tide, the bass and blues were feasting in the middle grounds today.  Great action all morning on the incoming tide.   Spent the rest of the day picking away at the large and extra large porgies.  Great day on the water.

Last night's trip saw great porgy fishing on the change of tide.  Lots of big scup on the drift east of the light.  The great fall fishing is here and the next few days especially should be fantastic with the good moon tides.

Tuesday Sept 13 am/pm trip

Am Trip - We started the trip by jigging blues at the 11 buoy. It was a very steady pick of blues in 80 feet of water. We also jigged several short bass. Everyone kept 4 or 5 blues and released the rest. We then took the ride out to the middle grounds where we found a good pick of jumbo size scup.

Pm trip- The pm trip was not as productive. We had slack water the the middle of the trip which resulted in a slow pick of scup all night.

Sept 12,2005
Fishing remains very good.  Fishing in horrendous conditions yesterday morning with the easterly winds and outgoing tide, we enjoyed a Bail job on the blues!  The fish were stacked up off B11 and it was an hour of great diamond jigging to start the day.  Porgy fishing was just a pick for the remainder of the trip.

There has been a ton of fish locally from Old Field to Mt Sinai.  The evening scup bite remains very good and has been a nice way to end the trip as the sun goes down!

Sept 6 and 7 pm trip -

Both night have been a bail job on the big blues and bass.

Wed trip - It was all out blitz style fishing for BIG blues and bass with all fares hooking up almost every drift. Fish ranged for 7-12 pounds. Many Blues going over 10 lbs. The pool was taken by a keeper size bass.

Thursdays trip - Again saw excellent diamond jigging on BIG blues. The blues were all over the surface crashing bait. They were feeding on butters and anchovies. By 6pm the fares already had enough of the blues so we steamed out to the middle grounds and finished up the night catching scup.

Sept 6, 2005
We weren't able to sail on the day trip yesterday due to the weather.  We did get out on the pm trip though and fishing was awesome!  Bailed Big porgies till the sun went down!  Great night.

September 3, 2005
The past two days have ranged from decent to excellent.  Both yesterday and today saw some decent jigging, but only for a short window of time on the incoming tide.  Many short bass with a few keepers in the mix.

The porgy fishing on the evening trips remains excellent as the sun set bite has been very very good.  Last night on the first of the incoming we had a great catch of nice size porgies drifting east of the light.  The day before was also very good.

We have spend all of our time at the Middle Grounds the past few days.  Its only going to get better from here!

August 2005

Aug 29,2005
The fishing was on the slow side on the last two day trips with the insane amount of boat traffic for the wicc bluefish contest.  The porgy bite continues to be very good though most trips at the middle grounds both day and evening.  We have had some great drift fishing east of the light on very big porgies which should hold up from here on out.  Today's charter of 4 kept 60 big scup to 2 lbs.   Great fishing for the kids for those who are interested.

The bluefish should be biting good on the moon coming up.  They disappeared right on time for the bluefish contest as they always do, but now that is past and should pick up closer to the new  moon.

Aug 22,2005
Middle Ground Madness has arrived in full effect!!
Today was an all out slaughter on the bass and blues.

We started the trip on a deep wreck for a decent pick of Jumbo scup.  Largest scup measured an impressive 17 inches long!!   The blues soon showed up and shut down the bite so we decided to switch over.

That is when the Bail began.  All out mayhem ensued as all rods doubled over with blues and bass for the next three hours.   Screams could be heard from miles away as helpless customers who had never been fishing before struggled with all their might to conquer the elusive striped bass and/or blue.

We even took a break at one point due to a mandatory mid slaughter cleansing of the boat.  After the boat was clean and our customers rested, we proceeded to get the boat disgustingly bloody and nasty again within minutes as the fish continued to fly over the rails at a torrid pace.  All parties involved easily limited out on blues to 13 lbs.  Lots of short bass and some keepers as well.

The rip in the middle was loaded with bass and big blues for almost a mile stretch.  The amount of anchovies and butterfish was incredible.  It just doesn't get any better.

Also, yesterdays afternoon trip saw some great porgy fishing.  These evening trips especially  have been excellent for the Big Scup.  Middle Grounds is again live and well!!!!

Below are some pictures from today's action:

Trusty Mate Jon gaffing a big blue

Pile of Bass on the fish finder

Every rod was doubled over with fish at this point.  The fish finder looked like this almost every drift.

Aug 17, 2005
We did not sail the last few trips with the lousy weather. Finally got out again last night for a Bail Job on Big Porgies!

Many guys limited out on the big 1-2 lb oven stuffer roasters!

The blue fishing has been tremendous in Smithtown Bay. Hopefully the great fishing will continue forever!

Aug 12, 2005
The last few days have ranged from excellent to very slow for no apparent reason.  We have had some great shots of big blues in the middle with some bass, and cocktails inshore on the surface.  Yesterday was slow for some reason on both the blues and the porgies, but go figure, we had a great fishing for nice size porgies on the afternoon trip and some decent shots at the blues off Miller Place.  Today, the morning bite was good on the porgies as our charter of 7 had a nice catch of quality scup fishing a deep wreck.  The chunk bite was slow on the blues.

Ton of bait around, ton of fish around but we are in the typical hot summer pattern  where you never know quite what to expect.  One day the chicken, one day the feathers!

Aug 7, 2005
Great day today.  It was a bail job on the  bass and big blues once the incoming tide set up.  We had a few keeper bass in the mix, lots of shorts and all the blues you wanted.  Many of the blues were good size 5- 10 lbs.

We tried one quick drop on a wreck for sea bass and porgies.  Only caught a few big scup before we decided to call it a day.
The porgy fishing is really starting to come to life in the middle now.  It is still quality over quantity but many trips this week, especially the evening trips saw some decent drops on the big scup to go along with the bass and blues.

Aug 1, 2005
Lots and lots of cocktail blues all over the surface on most days.  Today we fished in Smithtown Bay as acres of blues were on the surface.  The smaller diamond jigs have been the ticket as the blues are feeding on very small peanut bunker right now.   Porgy fishing has been a little slow the last few days on the inshore grounds.  Our best drops seem to be in the deeper water now where it has been quality over quantity.  Many of these scup weighed in over 2 lbs this week.  Hopefully the numbers increase a bit in the upcoming days.

July 2005

July 26, 2005
All out slaughter of the blue fish today.  Huge schools of blues were all along the beach from Mt Sinai to Smithtown Bay feasting on peanut bunker.  Limited out by 8 am with several guys easily catching over 30 blues a piece of which of course they only retained their limit.  The huge schools of bluefish was quite a sight to behold.  Below are a few pictures of the bluefish Blitz!

Everywhere you looked today you could see huge schools of blues like the ones shown here.

Picture of our Fish Finder Today showing a huge school of fish
under the boat.  At this point the entire boat was hooked up
at the same time!!

July 25, 2005
Porgy fishing has definitely  improved a lot this week with some quality fish now starting to show on the local rock piles.   Had some good drops recently off both Cranes and Mt Sinai .

Also the last few days there has been acres of cocktail blues on the surface off cedar beach.  Bring your spinning pole if you have one as the casters especially  are having a blast with all these fish.     Today was  incredibly rough which put a damper on the bass and blue fishing as we were very limited in where we could fish.  We did have a nice mess of porgies though despite the lousy conditions.   Looking forward to getting back out there with nicer conditions.

Wednesday, July 20,2005

Nice day with Tom Rock and friends today.  Enjoyed some ferocious bass and bluefish action on jigs in the morning.  Some real big blues to 10 lbs and a few keeper bass in the mix.  Chunked one 18lb Striper on the slack.  Finished the day with some decent fluke action off B11.
Fun day!

Monday, July 18, 2005
Well, it was a remarkable fluke season, the best I can remember. So fun while it lasted.

Wednesday was the last good day of fluking and it has been slow ever since. As of today we will be switching over to our Mixed Bag Bonanza trips!!!

We have had some great results the last few days on both the bass and blues as well as BIG scup. This mornings trip saw all fares limit out on scup by 9:30! Last nights trip also saw some great porgy
fishing to end the night.

Both the chunk bite as well as the jigging has been productive on both bass and bluefish. Should be especially good with the full moon this week.

Wednesday, July 13, 2005
The Fluke fishing was excellent on the outgoing tide this morning at b11.

Our crew was out bass fishing today and reported incredible fishing with bass up to 33 lbs on chunks.

We had a school trip today and missed it all!

Anyway, we hope to keep up with these fluke for as long as we can. Also we are going to incorporate the bass fishing into our trips when the conditions are right!

Mixed bag bonanza is here now until blackfish season!

Monday July 11, 2005
Today wasn't crazy fishing like it has been, but still it was a good days fluking at B11.

About 50 keepers to 4 lbs, tons of shorts.

Beautiful day out there.

Saturday, July 9, 2005

We didnt know what to expect today after all the bad weather.

Thankfully though, the fluke were still thick and hungry today. Great day out there!

10 fares aboard easily limited out on nice fat fluke up to 6.5 lbs. The fluke are still snappin'.

Bucktails and straight spearing worked best.

Friday, July 8, 2005

Did not sail today with the lousy weather.

The conditions were terrible in the morning yesterday with 2-4 foot chop on B11. Miserable. We were forced to get out of the wind a bit so we headed to Smithtown bay. Luckily we were able to find a decent pick of fluke to hold us over until the wind laid down.

Early afternoon the sound finally calmed down and we were able to get back to good old B11, home to thousands of fluke recently.

Fluke were flying over the rails before we ran out of time and had to head home. The bite was on for sure and thankfully we were able to get in three great drifts before calling a trip.

The official count at the end of the trip was 92 keepers to 5lbs!! Not bad for a day that started in such miserable weather conditions.

There is room on all trips this weekend.
I guess everyone is holding out to make sure the weather clears up. But it looks like fine weather for the weekend. Just give a call if you want in on this amazing run of fluke!!

Tuesday July 5, 2005
The Fluke are still snappin' !!!

Captain Andy just reported in from the evening trip: Over 100 keepers with the pool weighed in a 6.5 lbs.

Captain Jack from the Prowler had an 8lbder today!

Captain Chris on the day trip bailed the bass and blues in the morning and then finished up the trip with 20 nice fluke for 9 fares. Great day.

Sunday July 3, 2005

Tough day all around as the easterly wind made for very rough and lousy conditions.
We weren't able to fish b11.   Just too rough.
About a dozen keepers on the day.

Saturday July 2, 2005

Well it was a fine morning...but a slow afternoon.

Nice pick of fish this morning through the first of the ebb. Very picky after that.

Hundreds of boats fishing the area scattered all the bait up a bit.

Nice day out there anyway. Finished up with 60 keepers on the day.

Friday July 1, 2005
Another Banner day of fluking!!

Over 100 Keepers for 28 fares. High hook went to Scott Rio with 13 keepers (only keeping his limit). White spro's and teaser did the trick.

We fished the B11 area.

Thursday June 30, 2005

26 fares limited out!!

What a day! The beginning of the ebb today was an all out bail job.

Acres of sand eels with all the fluke you wanted underneath them. Finished the day with a full limit of fluke with plenty of nice ones 3-5 lbs.

Many fares had 5-15 keepers each (ORL)

Bucktails were the best again. Fished 10 minutes from the dock. Home by 1:30

Phenomenal fishing right now.

Tuesday June 28, 2005
What a day on Tuesday!!

12 fares....we stopped counting at 87 keepers (of which we only kept our limit) before calling it a day early and heading home.

A lot of fat fish today from 3-5 lbs.  Bucktails were the best.

Mon night 6 fares had 26 keepers to 5 lbs in the rain.

Some fishing right now!!

Give a call if you want in on this awesome fishing!!!

Monday June 27, 2005

Tremendous amount of bait all over the area now.

Tremendous amount of fluke.

Both b11 and b9 were great today.

300 fluke on the day, over 70 were keepers.

Fun fun fun!!!

Plenty of room on all trips this week. Don't miss this!!

Sunday June 26, 2005
Awesome day today!!!!

95 keepers was the official count at the end of the trip.

Fished some drifts in a little as 4 feet of water. Fluke were inhaling the bucktails today. Exciting fishing going on right now.

The best in several years for sure.

Yesterdy's evening trip saw the same great action as 75 keepers were landed on the half day trip.

Fluke are feasting on the sand eels in the shallow water. High hook today was into doulbe digits, of which only a limit was retained.

June 25, 2005
Great fluking today!!

The bite slowed yesterday at b11 though there was still some nice fish to be caught.

Today started out slow at b11. But thankfully we found a big pile of fluke late morning in tight to the beach feasting on sand eels.

We were fishing in 5-7 feet of water and the fluke were flying over the rails.
In two hours we put over 90 keepers in the boat and three times the amount of shorts. It was a blast catching like that in the shallow water.
Bucktails especially were catching very well.

If you are interested in getting in on this great fluking we still have room on tomorrow's trips as well as all trips for the upcoming week.

Just give a call.

June 22, 2005
Just got back in from a fantastic night of fluking!
The day trip was a little slow for the first part of the trip. But Captain Chris located a big pile of fluke to end the day.

The last few drifts were excellent as one drift saw over 20 keepers alone. All is well that ends well.

We headed right back to the spot on our second trip and the action was excellent. Lots of fluke!!!

Some of the highlights included Kil Song with 7 keepers, the Veteran had 7 keepers including a double header and a 6 lb pool fish, Fishon13 finally got back on his game and led the way with 9 keepers. 5 year old Chris Bacalla had a 5 lbder. My Mom even caught a few keepers! Just a great night.

FLuke are thick right now! Just give a call if you would like to join us.

June 22,2005
Fluking was very good on our afternoon trip on Monday. Nice pick of fish all night on the incoming tide at buoy 11. 7 fares ended up with 26 keepers to 4.5 lbs.

Yesterday's trip was decent but not great. Fishing was slow in the morning off Port Jeff. We found a few though off Rocky Point to finish up the day. Ended the day with 25 keepers to 4 lbs mixed with a ton a shorts. John Tirella lead the way keeping his limit.

Fishing was very good again on the evening trip Tuesday as 4 fares had 16 keepers fishing at B11.

June 20,2005
It was a great week of fluking in our area!
One of the best we have had in several years!

The highlight of the week was Kevin Stewarts 9 lb doormat caught on Friday.  Congratulations Kevin on a beautiful fish!

Saturdays trip was very good with a total of 73 keepers on the day with a ton a shorts. Some great fishing right outside the harbor as well as to the east off Rocky Point.

Sunday's day trip was very slow as the easterly wind really had the bite shut off. There were some keepers to go around but not like it had been.

By Sunday afternoon though after wind and seas finally calmed down the bite was starting again and with many nice fluke coming over the rails by the trips end.

We look forward to another great week ahead

Way to go Mikey!!-  5lbs

June 17, 2005
Very good fluking again today!

Lots of nice fish around.

Pool winner was caught by John Tirella which weighed in at 6.5 lbs.

Plenty of room on upcoming trips. Just give a call.

June 16,2005
Despite the lousy conditions the past two days with the easterly winds and very poor drifting conditions, the fluke have continued to bite very well.

Today 10 fares had 35 keepers to 4 lbs. Ed Remek lead the way with six keepers.( and yes...... he only kept his limit!!)

Yesterday saw similar results with 8 fares landing over 30 keepers to 5 lbs.

Yesterdays pm trip was on the slow side due to terrible conditions with the wind against the tide and lack of drift.

We sailed with 3 fares and landed just a few keepers on the night.

Considering the conditions though, it has been very good fishing. Look forward to when the winds swing back to the west again. Should be good!!

Crowds have been light and the fluke have been hungry!

June 14,2005
Excellent, excellent day today.

Caught fluke all day long!
17 fares had over 300 fluke on the day, close to 100 were keepers!

There was a ton of fish up on the shoal today. We worked the same drift all day long.

Nice sw breeze to push us along with the outgoing tide. Ton of bait in the area. Birds working all over. Just a great day all around.

No better way to beat the heat than to get in on some of this great fluking right now!

June 11,2005

Great day fluking again today!!

Caught well all day long. Tremendous action with plenty of nice sized fluke in the mix. 12 fares kept over 40 keepers on the day with a few over 5 lbs.

June 10,2005
Excellent fluke bite today!!!

Ten fares on our charter today would have easily limited out but some of them had to get home.

Man that was tough leaving such a great bite! Fluke were biting their heads off when we left. I wanted to stay out all afternoon!

Nonetheless, everyone went home very happy as we kept close to our limit on the day and released five times the amount of shorts.

Pool fish was 5 lbs and straight spearing without any jewelry was the ticket.

Great day all around!!!!!!

Just spoke with Captain Chris who is running the evening trip and he said they are mohawking the fluke right now. The great bite is still on!!!

Cant wait to get back out there again tomorrow. Plenty of room on tomorrows trip for you fluke lovers out there!

Also, for those of you who are interested, we will be appearing tomorrow morning on Rich Johnson's TV show!!!!!!!!

We had a nice trip yesterday with the gang from Noreast.com. It was the annual 'Battle of the Sexes'. Im not sure who won, so to be politically correct I'll say it was a tie.

Special thanks goes out to the one and only Lucky Lindy who told us about his 'top secret' fluke spot. Thanks Lindy.

The first of the ebb saw a good catch of fluke as we finished the day with over 40 keepers. Danny Kuftak had the largest on the day with a 5 lbder. Lindy was high hook retaining his limit of fluke.

Great day out there and a pleasure to fish with such a great crowd.

We didnt sail much on the day trips this past week, but the evening trips were very consistent right off the beach near Mt Misery and some nice fish are starting to show out on the shoal.

The good fluking should continue. We are sailing two trips daily now for Fluke.
7am and 4:30pm

This Tuesday is our guest celebrity day as the one and only Captain Neil Faulkner will be fishing with us. Should be fun.

May 30,2005
Once the weather finally cleared up, the fluking really improved over last week.

We have sailed the last several days and though it hasnt been super yet, we are seeing a decent pick on most trips with fluke to 4lbs.

When the conditions are right, the bite has been good, with the beginning of the tide and the last of the tide being the best. The bite turns on and off, but when you hit it right there are some nice quality fluke coming up.

Things are just getting going on the fluke front. Our area is always the last for the fluke to arrive. But the fish are now here and June has always been the best for our area. Come and get em'.

Saturday, May 21, 2005

Hello there everyone. Today was scheduled to be our first fluke trip of the season but unfortunately it was cancelled due to the weather.

The blackfishing slowed down a lot this week so we decided to make the switch over to fluke. There have been some nice fish in our area, as some of the local commercial fisherman have caught fluke to 12lbs the past few days right off Port Jefferson! Hopefully we can capture a few of these North Shore Doormats ourselves!

Also, we will be doing our Striped Bass Specials for as long as the good spring run lasts leaving every afternoon at 4:30 pm and returning at 9pm.
These trips will feature a combination of chunking, drifting worms, clam chumming, diamond jigging....whatever it takes to load up on bass.

Hope to see you soon!

May 15,2005
Blackfishing was picky Friday and Saturday with 15 to 20 keepers on each trip.

Today 4 fares had 14 keepers. Lots of little ones to fish through but at least everyone went home with a few nice fish for dinner.

We are going to blackfish one more week.
Still some nice fish around.

Thursday, May 12, 2005

We did not sail today due to the forecast but yesterday saw a nice pick of blackfish in beautiful conditions.

over 50 keepers were landed to 6lbs. Green crabs worked well today for the first time this year.

Nice light tides coming up this week. Should be good!

Monday, May 9,2005

With the windy forecast and the hard moon tide, we though it was going to be a hard day.....

Turned out to be beautiful though and despite the tide we had a very decent day of blackfishing.

Ended the day with close to 50 keepers to 6 lbs. Onaldo Pedro on his first ever blackfish trip had 8 keepers. Not too shabby Onaldo!  Phil Bloom had 7 keepers. Nice pick all day.

Sunday, May 8, 2005

This week blackfishing ranged from excellent to just a pick. Fish were a little hard to figure out as to why they bite so well some days but not on others. And so it goes....

Nonetheless, even the slow days saw 20 plus fish with plenty of nice size fish in the mix.

Monday was the best day of the week with over 200 fish for 8 fares, over 50 of which were keepers. Great all around day.

Wednesday was also good with 65 keepers to 7 lbs.

Thursday was much slower but we still managed 24 keepers on the day.

Friday saw 15 nice keepers come up on the first drop before the weather really turned lousy and we called it a day.

Both Saturday and Sunday were cancelled due to the weather.

We will be blackfishing for hopefully another two weeks. Should be good this week coming up if you would like to join us. Thanks and see you soon.

Well.......today was that long awaited day.....
The one we have been waiting for when the blackfish finally decided to bite their heads off!!

Great fishing today. 8 fares had over 50 keepers most of which came off one drop. Great action to go with plenty of quality sized blackfish as at least 150 shorts were released.

Rob Lupinacci led the way catching his limit of 10.

Fish were hungry today. You knew it when you had a bite. The blackfish have definitely turned on to say the least.

Beautiful day out there. Thankfully the wind held off until the afternoon.

Plenty of room all week for those who would like to get in on some great blackfishing while it lasts.

May 1, 2005

Well.... we sailed 4 trips this week despite the lousy weather. It wasn't the most exciting week of blackfishing but I think better days are ahead.

Every trip saw a dozen to 20 keepers with some nice fish starting to show up. The pieces are staring to come to life a bit more as the water warms.

Everything seems about week behind what it was last year so we are hoping that this week the bite will improve.

Maybe tomorrow we will bail them!

April 19, 2005

Well hello there everyone!  This is our first email of the year.  Hope you all survived the hard winter Ok.

We are very excited to begin the 2005 season.  Times flies.  Seems like yesterday that we were catching blackfish on the final cold days of November.  But here we are ready for what hopefully will be another great season.

Myself and our crew have worked very hard for the past two months getting the boat spruced up.  Just finished the final touches this week and we are ready to go!

The water has warmed up quickly the last few weeks.  As we brought the boat home from the Greenport shipyard on Sunday, the surface temp was up to as much as 47 degrees in certain parts of the sound which is around the temperature that the blackfish start to stir.   A few of the local lobstermen have started seeing blackfish in their pots this week which is a positive sign.

Looks like we should be right on time with our seasons first trip this Saturday April 23.

We will be sailing everyday at 7 am for blackfish for the next 2-3 weeks.  Once the fluke show up we will switch over, most likely sometime around mid May.  Just give a call if you would like to join us.

We really look forward to seeing you all again.  Hope you are all doing well.  Lets go catch some fish!!
